| Wireframe Pro is a wireframe render and shader plug-in for Carrara. The renderer, based on the same technology that powers Toon! Pro provides high quality wireframe rendering that can be combined with traditional ray tracing or even GI rendering. The Wireframe Pro shader works within Carrara's Texture room as a powerful tool for building your own wireframe shaders. Both tools can pull just the edges you define from the Vertex Modeler and Smart Quads can emulate the quads look for objects that aren't built on quads. |

Wireframe
Pro shader
- Size controls how far the line extends from an
edge.
- Space controls where the Size option is
calculated, in Global or Local space.
- Use the Invert function to switch between white lines or
black lines.
- Falloff determines how the line fades from white to
black. Radial rolls off from the edge in a curve, Linear
goes straight from white to black, and Absolute is either
white or black, now soft edge, through it is still
antialiased by the renderer.
- The Get Edges from Vertex Modeler option will
only draw the edges defined in the Vertex Modeler.
- Smart Quads will look for facet pairs that look
like quads and skip drawing the center line.
- Edge in degrees looks for sharp edges in your
mesh and draws lines at those points too.

Wireframe
Pro renderer
- Line Size controls the thickness of the line. The
value is the radius of the line in pixels.
- Line controls the color and blend with the
underlying color.
- Use Obj Color will use the object approximate color for the line color.
- Overdraw sets how far out of bounds the lines
goes.
- Use Depth Cueing to thin the lines as they fade
into the distance. The value slider controls how many
inches in distance required to reduce the Line Size by
50%.
- The On Vertex Modeler Edges option will
only draw the edges defined in the Vertex Modeler.
- Smart Quads will look for facet pairs that look
like quads and skip drawing the center line.
- Use the On Silhouette Edges option to ensure that
the edges on the outline of the object are always drawn
even if they would not normally be drawn because of Smart
Quads, they are not defined in the Vertex Modeler, or
because they are are not a sharp enough edge.
- On Edges Sharper Than looks for sharp edges in your
mesh and draws lines at those points too.
- The Backfaces Optimization sets whether or not Wireframe
Pro will draw lines on backfacing polygons and if it will
use backfacing polygons to eliminate hidden lines. For
most scenes this can safely be left on. If the Wireframe
Pro renderer is not drawing lines where you expect them or
not removing hidden lines you expect it to, try turning
this option off.
- Wireframe Pro does antialiasing on the lines it draws by
default, but for even smoother lines you can select Line
Oversampling to increase the quality even further. Be
advised that this will also increase Wireframe Pro's
memory usage.
- Alpha Content controls the contents of the Alpha channel if the
Render Alpha Channel option is turned on. The options are to use the base renderer's
alpha channel, the lines from Toon! Pro, or both merged.
- Do base render turns on and off the underlying Photorealistic renderer image.
By default the back ground will be white when this is turned off, or it will pick up the color from the Background or Backdrop settings.

Wireframe
Pro Override effect
The Wireframe Pro Override effect, available on the Effects tab
of the properties panel let's you override line effects set on
the renderer's UI. Here you can control the lines for an object or shading domain. Select the domain
from the list and change line settings above.
- With the Synch All option selected, line changes are applied to all shading domains on the object
- Override for selected domain tells Toon! Pro to use the settings in Toon! Pro Override
instead of the values in the Toon! Pro renderer for selected domain.
- Line Size controls the
thickness of the line. The value is the radius of the line in pixels.
- Line controls the color and
blend with the underlying color.
- Use Obj Color will use the object's approximate color for the line color.
- Overdraw sets how far out of
bounds the lines goes.
- Depth Cueing will narrow lines as they get farther from the camera. The slider
controls how many inches of distance for the lines to become half the width.
- Turn off Remove Hidden Lines if you want a shading domain to not erase
lines drawn behind it. This option would typically be used at the same time you turn the line size
or effect to zero so no lines are drawn. For example if you were turning off the lines on the eyelash shading domain
you will probaly also want to turn off Remove Hidden Lines so that domain does not erase any lines that might
be behind it.
- Some edges will be on shading domain boundaries. You can use the up and down arrows to control the settings priority.
If an edge borders two shading domains, it will use the settings from the shading domain highest on the list.

Tips and Tricks
- Wireframe Pro uses the edges in the mesh to create lines. If you
want a line in your image, it must be modeled that way in the
mesh.
- Duplicate with symmetry doesn't always leave the surface
normals in the right direction. If Wireframe Pro is not rendering
lines on a duplicated with symmetry mesh, try turning off the
Backfaces Optimization or reversing the normals on the duplicate
mesh.

Evaluation Mode
Wireframe Pro supports an evaluation mode which allows you to try out Wireframe Pro before purchasing it. When the Wireframe Pro Enter Serial
Number window is displayed, just click Cancel to go into evaluation mode.
During evaluation mode, the Wireframe Pro shader will only work for a limited amount of time before you need to close and reopen Carrara and the Wireframe Pro renderer will display every other block without the Wireframe Pro lines.
